Ha egy kis komfortra
vágyom, akkor a régensség időszakába nyúlok vissza. Olivia Atwater Half a Soul
című regényében mindez az alaphelyzet kapott még egy kis fantasy színezetet,
ami igazi guilty pleasure-ré (bűnös élvezetté) tette számomra a kötetet. Végig
nagyon élveztem ezt az aranyos történetet, amely nem akart nagy lenni, de mégis
foglalkozik komolyabb témával amellett, hogy romantikus.

Már számos regényt
olvastam ebből az időszakból fantasztikum fronton, éppen emiatt merem állítani,
hogy a „fantasy of manners” alműfajon belül ő az egyik kedvencem. Érzésben
nekem nagyon hozta Mary Robinette Kowal Bűbájoló történet sorozatát, amit szintén
szeretek. Emellett pedig Suzanna Clarke A Hollókirályából is tűntek fel benne
elemek, a főszereplőnk pedig Gail Carriger Napernyő protektorátusát idézi.
